Plot Synopsis by Hal Erickson

Walter Brennan and The Lettermen are Red Skelton's guests on this September 30, 1969 telecast. In the main comedy sketch, two sheriffs (Walter and Red), hoping to settle their rivalry for the hand of a wealthy widow (Peggy Rhea), both hire the same gunslinger (Bern Hoffman) to do their dirty work. The Lettermen sing "Shangri-La" and "Hurt So Bad", while the Jimmy Joyce Singers and the Tom Hansen Dancers team up for "Baroque-A-Nova" and "I Know a Place". In the Silent Spot, a big game hunter (Red) is pestered by a playful gorilla.
